cheap brake pads...ugh

Well before everyone flames, my stock Brembo pads where shot (27k miles) and I decided to throw some cheap Advance Auto Parts brakes on there to get me thru winter. Car is a daily driver, just needed something to get me thru until Spring when I could put some good pads and new rotors on. Anyhow to the post... These pads suck. Initial bite is terrible, and they take forever to stop (almost as bad as the worn out Brembo pads it seems) from higher speeds. The most annoying part is the squeal. Anytime you get them hot (on the street mind you) they start squeeling when applied. I tried the orange stuff for pads, and now anti-sieze. Pads make no noise when cold or driven normally, but any aggressive braking and they seem to get hot and squeel like a damn train. Is this just typicall of the cheaper pads, or is there some other type of grease/lubricant I should try on the backs of the pads?

Thanks,

SQ

Sounds like you are exceeding the temperature range of the pads.

Bendix on the rear and duralast on the front. After I thought about it, the front where purchased from AutoZone. Both are semi-mettalic pads.
