my suspension!!!

well a couple weeks ago i was gettin on the freeway and i hit a mean pot hole and spun out on the freeway and went over a curve and my back right shock got messed up..
the plate that holds up the spring completely came off so im ridin straight shock..
soooo... i was wondering what can i do to replace it...
any suggestions on what other things i can do...?
besides buying a new one...

Take it to a shop to get an estimate as to what needs to be replaced then decide if you can do it yourself or pay someone else to do the job for you.

well i got it looked at and someone offered to get it welded but idk if i should do that cuz i dont want it to break....
any suggestions on what i could get?

Wait, you're not actually still driving the car, are you?

If you broke the spring mount, you probably bent other stuff. Get it checked out by a shop.

No, you can't weld it. There's oil and gas under pressure in the shock. Heat it up to weld it and you will not only destroy all the seals and shim stacks, but possibly blow your damn fool head off.

IF you do decide to weld it... Please have a video camea handy and a note to someone to post it on YouTube...
