I'm running a 5mm spacer on the front of my car.
Do I need to invest in extended wheel studs??
I have open-end lug nuts and it doesn't look like I'm catching many threads.

How many turns does the lug have until it seats on the wheel (one turn is indicative of one thread. you need at least 6.5 as the bare minimum to be "safe")

Mike at RRE told me that a rule of thumb in racing is you want the number of threads gripping equal to 1.5 times the stud diameter.
When I bought my 5mm H&R spacers, they came with lug nuts than are 5mm longer than stock.
Thanks for the info!
I'll have to see how many rotations I get before they are torqued down.

Hello Guys
I just ordered a set of H & R's & was hoping for 2 things.
1. Not having to change out the studs. (The original poster did not reply w/ how many threads he captured)
2. That the wheel still centers itself on the hub with the added spacer (Is there still some hub sticking through the spacer
Give me your thoughts please..........Best Regards, Joe / So. Cal
