rotors?
rotors?
im looking to buy some rotors for my evo 8 that can take a beating. im looking to take a hit on the price as well. so dose anyone have any recommendations on some of the best rotors on the market available for my car.
performance friction 2 piece. those rotors make you an instant tough guy or your money back, especially when you've got the wheel off and you're bleeding the front calipers. i'm not even the type to show off hardware, but i couldn't help but smile with all the comments from other track junkies this past weekend.
so far, no warpage, unlike my previous stoptechs.

This is from my review of my brake upgrade...
Along with the rest of the car upgrades i decided to also upgrade my brake system and try to gain some weight.
After a lot of research and reading i was satisfied by the package that Baer Racing Brakes was offering so i went a bought a set.
I got the rotors and brake fluid (ATE Super Blue) from Mach V. Delivery of the fluid was immediate and the rotors took a while since they were shipped directly from Baer...
Well packaged in two boxes, front and rear set. Actually i was pretty impressed to see instructions, bend in guide in a well organized box.

Now to the most important feature and the main reason on selecting these rotors...
WEIGHT SAVINGS....
Used a digital scale and i got these results...
Front Rotors...

Rear Rotors...

As you can see the weight savings compares to the stock units are HUGE and will definitely help, along with my lighter 17 inch wheels and better tranny, to launch the car better this year...
The total brake package is:
- Baer Eradispeed 2-piece rotors, front and back
- Ferodo DS-2500 brake pads
- Stoptech steel brake lines
- ATE Super Blue brake fluid
Excellent product and
to Baer and Mach V......
Update and impressions when i install them...

What are you basing this on?
To the OP, its probably a good idea to ask those who give you advice as to what sort of experience they have. Even then, you cant always trust everything experienced people have to say. Moving on, as you can see in my sig, i compete in NASAs TT series. Im currently in my second season. Im nobody special, but i think i have enough experience to say a little something about this topic. I know nothing about the other products that have been mentioned thus far, because i have never ran them. Even then, without running a good season on a particular product, youre never really going to know.
Back to what i know. I ran almost the entire 07 season on my OEM rotors, and they did a pretty decent job. Towards the latter part of the 07 season i got the StopTech 2 piece rotors. I have ran a good 16 or so events on them thus far, and they have performed very well. They also do a great job of dissipating heat. One of my NASA TT friends also runs them, and he too is very pleased with them. If they can work for guys like me, im sure they will work for most other people. Im not claiming that the StopTechs are the best, but what i can do is tell you what i have experienced. Although, im pretty sure that if i went with some other reputable rotor, i might be happy also. But why should i try to fix something that is working just fine? So unless youre competing like i am, if i were you, i would just buy something i get the best deal for. Or, you can buy the StopTechs because you heard it from me.
