im lookin into purchasing some suspension parts for my evo8 but am torn between springs or coilover suspension. i drive the car everyday and want a setup that will be durable for street use but still perform well on the track. any input will be appreciated.

What class do you plan to compete in? How competitive do you want to be? What's your budget?

There are so many threads...do the searches and then ask the questions...

But one word of warning...Coilovers are definitely one of those things where you get what you pay for, no exceptions. The market is efficient...

This month's coilover shootout in Sport Compact Car is one of the best head to head tests I've ever seen.

Check out this thread:

This guy has done a great job at testing Bilstein HD's with Swift springs and seems to be a great setup for the track. He just added Swift swaybars front and rear and just won a beermug(see his Swift swaybar review thread).

They're really great threads full of tons of info. You should post what you finally decide on with before and after pics with a follow up on how the final setup is working for you.

Good luck
