Robispec KWs are definitely unique from KW products purchased from other vendors. KW 'private labels' their products for Robispec, complete with the Robispec logo on the KW serial number plate on the shocks, so you know exactly what you are getting.

The differences mostly center around valving designed specifically for your platform, be it Mitsubishi, Pontiac, Subi, or any of the many cars for which Robi has designed suspension.

The huge factor that can't be ignored is setup. I see lots of guys with uber-expensive off-the-shelf shocks that barely perform better than cheap coilover setups, mostly due to the fact that they are not setup correctly. Every car, driver, tire, and track need different setups on any given day, so going with someone with lots of experience in different environments greatly improves the quality of the ride and handling you get from a given set of shocks. Also, most people never address the multitude of issues that come up once you go 'off the grid' with custom suspension.

Off the shelf KWs are great to begin with, but by going with a vendor like Robi, you get that last 5% improvement in ride and handling that makes it worth stepping up and spending a little more.

Do like the real racers do and you too can start collecting trophies...Robi has helped many winners over the years.

Thats not a problem at all. Robi has setup so many cars over the years that he can guide you with information that will allow a local shop to make the necessary changes. The actual work can be done at any shop, its having a guy like Robi available by email or phone who can tell you exactly what to do to get the most from your coilovers.

Robi's secret sauce!

I suspect Robi's custom valving and spring rates. ROBISPEC FTW!

Yea, david is right.

You are buying robi's experience when you get robispec KW coilovers.... its his experience with Evo's & other cars at the track, accumulated into a basic package. Think of it as an awsome starting point, better than a 'stock' KW.

Nobody has more on-track suspension experience & knowledge than robi for the evo.

Now I always wondered is it possible if you already have the stock kw to be
rebuilt to robi specs at a later time?

A local Evo owner had Robi travel here to install KW3 coilovers along with sway bars and an alignment on his Evo IX here in Charlotte. The car handles amazingly now.

Yes but the rebuild/revalve is 175/corner +shipping X2 so unless the V3's are Ultra cheap and or BEAT I think it would be cheaper to resell them and get new Robispec...

Porsche and BMW actually got their slogans from what you will think after you have this suspension on your car.

ROBISPEC- There is NO substitute...

A Robispec'd Evo- The ultimate driving machine...

im gonna post up a review next week.. but a quick run down of the first KW test.

amazing.

We swapped out my DMS 50mm's (that I won 3 straight time attacks on) with the double adjustable robispec KW race shocks... car handles better now. More planted, way better turn in, way less body roll & just a tad bit better high speed damping ( sweepers)

unfortunately, my rear diff has had its life & was spinning 1 tire instead of 2... gonna take care of thta asap.

but yeah... its for sure, KW 2 way race shocks perform better than DMS 50mm's & the yokos are holding up extremely well too.. im baffled they are 180 TW street tires cause they feel like R comps!
