Coilover and alignment issue

I have PIC/Pure TSO coilovers installed and aligned. When installed the camber plates on the top have no more positive adjustment. I can get a -2 degree camber and nothing less. the struts are pulled away from the engine as far as possible. The front tires appear to have significant camber and the alignment shop could not get a zero toe. Toe in is slight, but I do not have the printout to give exact numbers.

We had a decent rain this morning and the car appears to "slide" while driving. Almost like the tires are hydroplaning. I am unsure if the camber is so bad that the tires are not on the road fully. Like this / \ or if the toe is effecting it. I am ready to remove the coilovers and go back to stock with springs. ANy help with the below questions is appreciated.

2 Questions:

1) Did I install the coilovers wrong? It seems incorrect to have no adjustment on the camber plates positive.

2) Will Toe-in cause the car to "slide" during when water is present on the road?

Passenger Side Camber Plate

Driver Side Camber Plate

Engine View of both Plates

Drivers Side Rim

Passenger Side Rim

Camber really should not cause that, however toe can. have the toe zero'd out.

The bolts that hold strut assembly and the knuckle are messed.

That was my thought too, but I verified that both bolts where pointing in the same direction. Had both pointing out originally and then changed them to the -1 position (pointing in.) Same problem exists. Amost feels like the car doesn't have enough tire on the road to avoid hydroplaning. I have never felt this befoe.

-2 degree camber isn't that much. How low is the car did you slam it? Too much toe in would make the car feel twitchy in a straight line. What kind of tires are you running is the pressure set correctly?

Not slammed. Corner weighted, but the front is a bit lower then when I used hotchkis springs and stock 05 suspension. Tires are Direzza Star SPec at 33-35psi. Drives straight and corners great. Only problem is the drive when water is present and noticed lots of tire noise recently. COnstant humming.

I'm kinda at a loss here, you can get more toe out by raising your ride height a bit but not knowing what it's at now doesn't help. More camber would bring the toe out a bit also and you'd be better off with a little more camber and zero toe to reduce tire wear. Can you post a picture of the camber plates? Try setting the tire pressures to what is says on the drivers door jam.

The plot thickens, stock with no camber plates the center strut mount is right in the middle of the 3 mounting bolts. Why no printout from the shop that did the alignment? I don't know how you could have installed the coil overs wrong to make that much of a difference. Did you call pure and ask them what they thought about this?

Besides the alignment, did you check all of your other suspension components? When you installed the coilovers, if you loosened any of the control arms, etc., did you make sure to tighten them under load? I'd also re-inspect all of the bushings and make sure that the anti-roll bars are still connected.

I had an old Taurus SHO that did this when I first bought it (used, hi mileage) and it turned out that most of the rear suspension bushings were shot. Got pretty scary in the rain.

I am working with Pure tuning and discussing with them the issue, as well. They are being very helpful. I need to find the alignment sheet, I got one, but can't find it right now. I am going to have them put it back up to check this week if I can get there before they close.

The top of Hole (camber bolt) on the Strut is also slotted to give more camber adjustment / and wheel clearance for agressive wheels. If you are looking for more pos camber make sure that it was not tightened in a Max Neg camber position.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh read?

"I can get a -2 degree camber and nothing less." meaning more positive.

"Had both pointing out originally and then changed them to the -1 position (pointing in.) "

Wrong coilovers or wrong alignment shop.
