STREET Brake Pads (yes another thread)

Hey gents (and ladies), I've been trying to narrow down my pad choices. I've decided on Rotorpros Slotted rotors cuz everyone is saying that drilled is a no-no. I'll also being adding some SS lines and ATE Superblue.

The car is only driven on the street and the occasional 1/4 mile. So I do not need a auto-X style pad. I need something that is quiet and has very little dust (I hate cleaning my Advan RS ).

So I'd love to hear recommendations on a low dust/low noise Street pad. I've been reading a lot of threads about street/track pads, but not many threads about street only pads.

Been looking at the Hawk HPS and Project Mu's. Anything else available that fits my requirements?

Thanks in advance!

I've said this like four times today but I'd suggest checking out the Performance Friction Z-Rated pad. Very good street and track pad that has very little dusting. For personal reasons I'm not a fan of Hawk. I've used them on multiple cars in different track conditions -- no thanks.

Project Mu's B-Force pads are excellent. From my experience with them they are really rebranded Ferodo 2500's which don't give off much dust but perform great on and off the track.

That said, I vote Performance Friction Z-Rated if you want something that doesn't dust.

Thanks smikevo and nihilation. I definitely want something low dust. I bought the advans to look good, not 'collect dust'. LOL

I would listen to this guy. I have the Z-Rated as well. Feel stock (good cold bite), are quiet, make very little dust, and have an MOT over 1000 degrees. They are virtually the same as the Ferodos and I paid $185 SHIPPED for front and rear. Hawk just doesn't do great on Evo's. I wouldn't pay more than $100 F&R for those pads.

Shims are there for a reason as is grease. They may be quiet without them but they should have them.

the shims are already installed on the magicpads - and yes, they are the perfect
street pad. no noise, no dust.

Check out the various levels of RB ET-Series brakes: http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/ve...olution%20VIII

I just bought the ET-500's for autocross/street mix, so the 300's may fit your bill.

For mostly street use we have been exceedingly happy with the centric/stoptech posiquiet semimetalic pads.

Exceedingly quiet, and very very very little dust. Oh, and they're cheap too.
