when i first got my car it did that, the guy i took it to said that my spring mite have been loose or "turned" a bit on the strut.... but i did a really hard canyon run and it cured it... so it mite not be a big deal but im no expert, nor know if thats the case

there is a good chance that it could be spring binding. i had this problem in my viii.

on the oe suspension the top hats tend to lose their grease after a while, causing the spring to bind up until it gains enough energy to "pop" back in to place.

take the cover off the top hat and check the level of the grease in the top of the strut assembly.

look at the ball joints. If it clunks while you go over crap then that is the culprit.

you think you have aftermarket suspension? take a good look and figure it out.

aftermarket suspensions will do that as well sometimes. like huevos said, it could also be ball joint, or tie rod ends, but i always advise people to check for spring binding first because it is a fairly common thing, and is fairly easy to check/fix.

search around for "clunk" and "pop" in this forum, you will see what i mean.

I've had that problem before. Turned out to the nut at the top of strut that went loose. You should hurry and get that tightened down if that is the problem. Good luck to you!
