I ordered my 245/40 R17's yesterday, shaved from Indiana. I hope to have them soon. I miss my uber-tires.

They also have a 245-45-17 Star Spec. Legal for AWD STU. I have had these ( thanks Neal ) for about 6 weeks. Fit is perfect on 05 MR stock BBS 17 x 8 with Espilar spring set. No rubbing. And lots in stock at the time :-)

The width on these is more like the stock Advans. ( 235 width ) If you need more rubber and it is legal for your class, I would go 255-40-17. IMHO there should not any issue at all with the 255 rubbing on stock BBS and Bilsteins, even lowered.

These are better than the Azenis by a fair bit. They are definitely more stable in repeated ax runs, and IMHO hold up much better when hot. I used to have to cool the RT's with cold water, but not these.

They are absolutely awesome for "spirited back road " driving. Predictable and give enough warning before starting to let go. Turn in is as good or better than the Advan, to me.

I also think these are much quieter than the admittedly very loud Yokohama ES-100's, which I had in 245-45-17 also. No where near the road noise.

Yup from Adrian. Man I don't get why you guys don't call me direct for these orders. Posting all this info and help on the board is worth something I'd think.

Sorry, I had already placed my order last week before seeing your posts on here. Your help and info is very much worth it to me. I will definitely call you direct when I'm ready to place my next order.

Yep, all that info is good. The only problem with the 245/45 is that it's noticeably taller than stock whereas the 255/40-17 is almost identical diameter to stock. The taller 245/45s will increase gearing, which can be bad or good depending on the rest of your setup and what you do with it. The 245/40 gives less gearing and thus quicker acceleration but less revs in 2nd, which can also be a problem, because you don't want to shift to 3rd if you can avoid it in autox. Those 3 sizes all work well on the Evo.

Slightly . What are the fastest tires for stock suspension/wheel set in autox? I just want to run the fastest times possible. I don't care what class I would get bumped up to. I thought I read a post by Warr ,saying the Hoosiers over-loaded the suspension too much.
