need help wheel/tire gurus

im in a bit of a dillema here, did an oil change the other day, and noticed that the wires on my stock advans are already starting to show...wasnt really surprised since i've had it on for 24k miles. i know stock advans dont last as long.

now here comes the problem, i ordered me some advan rg 17x9 +35, but it wont be here until the end of the month or so. i need some tires asap, since the evo is my dd for now. i decided to just go ahead and get some tires for now for my stock enkei's, and then swap them out when i get the RG'S...

my question is what size tire should i go with that would be good for the stockies and the RG's. i know most people run with 255/40/17 with 17x9 wheels, would 255 be fine on the stockies without any fender work.

im lookign at purchasing some dunlop direzza star specs tomorrow, once i get off work...

i drive a ix btw lowered on swift springs...place im buying it from told me that i wouldn't need to do any fender work, is this true?

yes, 255/40/17 will fit on the stock rims on a lowered car.

^thanks smike...main concern is if the 255 would be fine with the 17x9 rg2 without any fender rolling involved...

some people told me that the 245 might be too tall...and go with a 235 or 255...any truth in this?

245s are .2in taller than 235, 255 is .2 shorter

I dont know about the RG2s and offsets, dont know anyone with them. Check that wheel fitment guide.

A 255 may rub depending on rear camber. Front should be just fine.

all i know is that the rg2 +35 is not so aggressive like other gtr face wheels +29.

255/40/17 vs. 245/45/17...or maybe even 235/45/17...not really sure which one i should run with...car is my dd btw...wouldn't be seeing the track anytime soon as i am pretty booked at work
