235/40/17 on an EVO
235/40/17 on an EVO
I have an extra set of summer tires in 235/40/17 and was looking to replace the stock advans (235/45/17) with them. Will these work on my EVO? Wheels are stock 17x8 bbs.
Thanks in advance.

To answer your question, yes it will work. You will be fine to drive on them. However is it ideal for tracking no not really. I have ran 235/40/17 Toyo RA1's for a year now, no issues. More ideal go 245's. Good Luck!!!

Just use them for playing around on. You know you wont extract every millisecond out of them so who cares? I have ran 235/40 R comps and they were CRAZY fun provided you have some good local roads to beat on. Do that and you wont regret anything.

You will be fine and I don't know why everyone is saying it's not ideal since every tire manufacturer is different with their sizing. You'd be shocked to know how many 40 series sidewalls are taller than other manufacturer's 45; same goes for width, some brands run wider than others for the same size. As far as actual height of the tire you're looking to use, a tape measure is what will let know for sure if it's shorter/same/taller.
