I have this along with a TRE Tcase upgrade with ralliart LSD, but my damn seal leak has prevented me from ever driving the car more than 3 miles...I have redone the whole suspension, weight reduction, aero, etc - I cannot wait to actually put it thru the paces, but snow is almost here...

I think I'll be doing all suspension and drivetrain mods like this before I add any power. It sounds like having all 3 diffs upgraded completely changes the characteristics of the Evo for the better.

I've done quite a bit of mods to my car...I would say this is right up there with my Ohlins coilovers. Pretty much makes the car amazing.

I finally upgraded my coilovers, clutch, Quaife front, and fitted my huge wheels and tires so I can actually make a worthwhile assessment of one of these rebuilt rear diffs. I ended up going with Shep instead of TRE, but I'm confident it will work about the same. Can't wait, just so damn busy!

Yes, it's fine but don't read that one dude's break-in procedure

You gotta drive in figure 8's first, then put on some serious miles followed by an oil change (you will need break in oil). Also, how the clutches face each other will vary the amount of diff lock you get; some people don't know this fact.... you can make a 1.5 way more like a 2 way by assembling the plates improperly.
I don't like clutch diffs though, prefer helical diffs.

I've answered three posters in the last month or two who were having problems with their cars they couldn't figure out. In two of the cases it turned out they had used something other than diaqueen in the rear axle and the axle was locking and giving problems. In the third case the OP never reported back but since he hasn't I assume changing lubricant fixed his problem too. This with differentials assembled in the matter Mitsu chose when they sent them here.

So, the axle the way came can become pretty aggressive with just an incorrect lubricant load. Maybe Mitsu's worries are justified. Maybe, if you want more locking action all you need to do is change lubricant.
