your tire choice

Agreed. I like Goodyear - Dunlop is a part of them. But its about the right tire for the car. Those are not it. For a daily driver tire I really like the F1 All Seasons. And summer tire - hands down Z1 Star Specs.
The tires litterally begin to "peel" on the inside. Forget feathering, the goodyears go from having tread, to peeling tread in about 3k miles, to no inside tread at 5k miles. I wish someone else would make another tire choice for the z06 that didn't require me waiting a year for delivery.
The rears are gone even sooner. Currently my Z06 has just under 6k miles on it. It is a 2006 model, and was one of those infamous Z06s that had the roof FLY OFF during driving. So far, I have eaten through two sets of rear tires, and one set of fronts. All goodyears. Personally, I think goodyear is crap.
I'm running BFGoodrich G-force sports in 245/40/17 on the stock wheels. These are the best set of tires I have ever used on any of my cars. Last very long and is good in wet or dry pavement. Paid $550 for these tires including tax and install.
If you're looking for an all season, narrower the better works for winter. In a 235/40-18, I'd look at the Michelin Pilot Sport AS+, GY Eagle F1 AS, or the Conti Extreme Contact. The Michelin would have the top in dry handling, the GY top wet/dry combo, and the Conti better snow bite. You could also use a 255/35-18 in which the GY and Michelin are made. With AWD you can't go wrong with any of them.
