I just picked up a set of Evo 8 wheels and 1 of them the paint is messed up. Looks like stripper dripped on it. My question is If I strip them down what paint do I use to match the factory paint?

 

your would pull your paint code and go to a paint distributor and have them mix it and thats the paint u would use. if you want to match the paint on your car your ganna have to your your paint code on the vehicle

 

Humm...I am sure there is a color code for it. It is automotive grade paint and clear coated.

Take them to any good body shop - got mine painted for $125 or so (all 4).

 

I meant the factory paint on the wheels not on my car.

 

What about the sticker?

I want to paint my rims but need another set to ride temporary.

 

Friend in MI, but reasonable price. I did the prep work and no tires on the rim. Shouldn't cost an arm and leg. NYC might be different, a bottle of water there cost $1000 bucks.

 

Here are some pics of the rim. It looks like something got under the paint and it just started to flake off. I was also wrong the Enkei logo looks like paint.

 

Ebay for the sticker. And its a sticker - doesn't add 5hp.

 

Cool $3 sticker. Now if I knew what the paint was I could refinish the wheel.

 

Has Anyone figured out what the factory paint for the wheels is?
