Noise when slamming the breaks

Hi,

when i hit the breaks hard (as in full force on the pedal) at moderate speeds (say less than 40-50 mph) I hear a squealing noise from the back (possibily the passenger brakes) any ideas what that is? this only occurs when u slamm the breaks and no noise at all if ur breaking normaly.

Thanks,

Agreed.

And to those with slotted rotors - they should not be grinding.

OP - its normal of the OEM Brembo pads. There are shims on the brakes.

Get the red brake lube and coat the backing plate and shim. But if you only have this problem at 100% effort braking - find something else to worry about.

i love noobs coming on and expecting people to spoon feed them the answer. its like walking into the doctors office and stating, "doc, im in pain. what should i do?" he'll give you the "you an idiot" look.

tell us background info like....

1.did you change the pads(or any other brake parts) recently and getting squeals?
2.did you ever bother to check how much meat your pads have?
etc etc

if i have changed those parts then i would have definitly mentioned something about them and not kept it a secret.

guys,
No i haven't changed anything recently on the car and yes it appears on a 100% brake force.a friend of mine suggested that i take off all the junk in the trunk and try it again to see if maybe something in there is squealing out of place when breakking hard.
thanks and i will keep u guys posted.

And again - its braking not breaking. One stops cars, one needs fixing.

But seeing you cannot spell your own screen name...detroit pistons - being a Detroit native, that grinds my gears.

1.what year is your evo? mileage?
2.are you the first owner?
3.if you arent the first owner, did you bother to check how much pads are left in the back?

Thanks,
Maybe it's your trunk monkey squealing as his head is being slammed against the rear passenger seats
