Brade Pads

I need new brake pads. Which ones should I go with? Preferably one that doesn't squeak like a pigeon. I don't track so no need to get too serious. Thanks guys.

Have had very little complaints on the Hawk HPS for street use. Used them myself with great results.

Sorry Neal. The HPSs suck for the Evo. I had them, glazed over, lacked any bite...just not my cup of tea of this car. On my Focus the HPS were great, but not the Evo.

OP - search? Been covered a bunch. GranSport GS6's, PF Z's, GiroDisc Magics, etc.

Yeah, he doesn't track so I'd say magic pads are what he is asking for - no noise, modest price and good cold bite. They do dust a little though - not nearly as much as the stockers.

After reading so many good comments about them, I was disappointed with Hawk HPS pads. OK, so maybe they don't suck but certainly these pads do not stop this car as expected. I don't have any hard data to compare with other street pads; however after using them during at least 10,000 miles I can say that for daily driving this is not the hot ticket.

Ferodo DS2500... best street pad - IMO. Mine dont squeak. Make sure to use lots of grease with whichever pads you get.

Girodisc Magic or Racing Brake ET300's. Both have slightly improved stopping, less noise, and less dust compared to stock pads.

I'm with you on this one SmikeEvo. I regret buying the hawk HPS pads and I would advise other's to look into a different pad.

one of my friends just installed the girodisc magic pads. he's quite happy with them.

i was going to go that route as well, but stumbled across a set of gently used stock pads for next to nothing and couldn't pass them up.
