GTWorx with MR. Bil
GTWorx with MR. Bilstein
Short:
Great suspension combo. GTWorx gets props for a stiffer spring with a mild drop for the grown ups. German dampers all sealed up in yellow are very nice*
All EVOs should have come this way. I can hit dips, driveways and even do a little off roading. My fiance looked at me and smiled on her first trip in the car with the new suspension. She said your car is smooth now. She drives an IS250 so that means alot
Long:
The installation went pretty well. The front GTWorx springs must be compressed in order to install. That's a first for me with lowering springs. The rear springs went on without being compressed. The bump stops are left stock which is comforting. I have the front camber set to -1.8 degrees. The rest of the alignment is set according to spec. There is a Progress rear sway on the car that I changed to the softest setting from the stiffest setting. I also added grease to the rear sway bushings because they were squeaking. All bolts were torqued and I drove the car about 100 miles over the course of 3 days. I checked the torque on the suspension bolts yesterday and all was well.
The car has quieted down considerably on the street. Large FWY dips are completely dampened at speed with a smooth progressive compression and an instant rebound with no additional action. Stiff but compliant. bumps are absorbed 100%. It feels very planted. There is body roll, but it's not bad. On turn in the car settles quickly on whatever line you steer into. There is slight understeer and then it balances out when the power is put on.
I know there is debate about lowering springs and how they suck. Some lowering springs do suck IMHO like Tein. I felt a little guilty when I sold my Tein springs this dude. There are some good springs out there though. It depends on what you want. I want the Germans to make my dampers and I want to wrap a coil with less than a 1" drop over them.

<5000 miles. The car had HKS RS coilovers installed at about 1500 miles. The stock stuff sat for about two years/22000 miles. This is when I purchased the car used. After driving around for about 600 miles I realized HKS coils were not what I wanted. The car was too low, and it didn't have the all around good performance the MR Bilsteins have. I put the stock suspension back on at about 24000 miles and drove it for another 3000 miles. The MR Bilsteins I purchased had less than 600 miles on them.
I sold my IX RS 14 months ago that had the Mueller stage 1 setup (Progress rear sway and poly rear control arm busuhings w/ custom alignment) and stock height MR Bilsteins. I thought I wanted a X, but when they came out wished I hadn't sold my white IX RS. I miss my white RS.

1000 mile review
The front springs seems to have settled maybe an 1/8 of an inch. The rear seems to be the same height. The car has a very slight rake to it. With the stock ride height the HID lo-beam was borderline too high especially under acceleration. For the halogen bulbs it wasn't a problem, but with the HID lo-beam I was lighting up rearview mirrors and FWY signs from a long distance. Now with the GTWorx springs the lo-beam is where it should be and FWY signs don't reflect the way they used to. The lo-beams are adjusted to max vertical height.
Ride quality hasn't changed at all. The car doesn't drive like it is lowered. I can go over parking lot speed bumps full speed if I wanted without any rubbing. I can park in spaces with a curb in front without the plastic parts scraping it. My driveway is steep and if I go straight in I'll get a slight scrape. Concrete drains/dips in intersections aren't a problem at all. I took my 77 year old grandma for a ride to my mom’s house which is about 65 miles round trip. The only thing she didn't like was having to yell at me even though she was sitting shotgun. She had no complaints about the ride quality.
My car had a creaking problem that was a PITA. It would creak like an old door when any weight transfer such as taking off from a stop, braking or turning slowly. I thought it was a motor mount or bushing. I found the driver side front factory tie bar (near downpipe) bolt loose. The previous owner hit something when the car was dropped on HKS coils. The bolt was bent pointed toward the back. I was able to tighten the bolt maybe one full turn and the creak is gone.

From: Still in NC!! Loving retired life!!
Great review. I couldn't agree more. I actually got my GTWorx springs from Jalal (^) shortly after he won them at CBRD's dyno day last fall! He had already purchased a set and then won the door prize and sold them to me for a great price on the spot! I was able to locate a set of low mileage MR Bilsteins and finally did the complete install this past holiday break. I couldn't be happier! Thanks everyone for helping me get this setup also.

Alright guys so after reading this you have me leaning towards the GTWorx. I have an 06 MR SE and will be getting a set of TE37 18x9.5 +22 and im looking for a suspension that is going to work well. Sounds like the ride is fantastic. Do any of you guys have aftermarket rims? What are your thoughts? What is the size of the drop on the springs?

Bump.
We haven't been able to offer these springs for a long time and are very close to doing another production run. I really want to be able to get these springs out there again.
The group buy is ALMOST there!
