Tire suggestion

I've been searching for tire sizes that are recommended for 18x8s but haven't found a lot of solid info through search. I know 18x9s most recommend 255/35/18
but what about 18x8? Will 245/40/18s fit?

Car has stock suspension now and fenders are already rolled to the max. Soon to be lowered though probably just some swift springs.

235/40-18 is what we normally use. Others have used the 245's with good results.

Thanks. 235/40s are what I'll be going with.
