Brake Squeal
Brake Squeal
I bought my Hawk 'Performance Street' Brake Pads, I had no time to install the brakes myself so I went to my friend who works at Just Brakes, he gave me a pretty good deal on installing the brake pads and resurfacing the stock rotors.
after a couple miles of driving the car, every time I slightly push the brake pedal, the brakes squeal pretty bad, I order to them to not squeal I have to brake harder. I checked the brake pads and the resurfacing but everything looks ok. as far as I know everything was installed properly, grease was placed on the back of the pads for "anti-squeal". I think my front rotors are the only ones that squeal, judging of where the sound comes from.
did I not put enough?
any inputs appreciated it.
thanks a lot

Did you bed the pads properly after the install? And was everything greased that needed to be? Other than that, welcome to driving an Evo.
Oh yeah, and did you properly reinstall the shims?

HPS Pads are known for squeaking. They are pretty hit or miss but if grease isn't working you can try replacing your stock pad shims with these and use grease.
Girodisc Anti-Noise Shims:
They have helped a lot of HPS pads loose their chatter.
