Wheels Question

I'm thinking about getting 18X7.5 Enkie EKM3 wheels. I notice that stock wheels is 17X8. Is that going to affect anything? Thanks!

Ummm why exactly would want to go up in wheel diameter size and down in width??? That really baffles me, increase the rolling mass but remove contact patch??? Why? unless you are rallying the car and that's another story. Im not flaming just asking as to what your reasoning is behind this choice as it seems adverse to performance all around.

No, I'm not rallying my Evo. I was looking at some wheels and tires package and notice that the width is lower than the stock wheels. I want to make sure it'll perform some what the same as stock before I get them. But your post help me understand what I need to do. Thanks

I'm sure you could call up the vendor and ask for the same packages in bigger sizes.

The difference in width will make the wheel sit 1/4" further in compared to stock. If we knew the offset that will also determine how far in/out it will sit in comparison.

I'm leaning toward 18x8 Tenzo Type M. Any opposition to that? I guess the next step is to find the right tires to go with it. According to some good info I find in here about matching tires and wheels, 245 40 is good with that size or somewhat. Any tires and wheels expert chime in please. Thanks
