4-way suspension
4-way suspension
i notice there are a few reputable companies make a 4-way coilover. just out of curiosity, when is it necessary to go with a good set of 4-ways? also from the more experienced racers, can you really get more noticeable tunability out of a 4-way compared to a 3-way and a 3-way to a 2-way?
You use a 4 way when you have an experienced motorsports engineer on your team and/or a LOT of time to test and tune. You can do some very cool things with the 4 way, but it takes time and experience.
Otherwise you won't be any faster than if you just had a good 2 way. Alternatively, just have a professional revalve any good, consistent set of dampers (Bilstein, Koni, AST, Ohlins, etc) and you don't need to fiddle with 4 knobs + nitrogen!

very good info! let say i have the a tuner with the time and experience, what are some of the cool things you are referring to? and by the way the 4-ways that i am looking at are the jrz's. any inputs on those would also be greatly appreciated!
Agree with Andrew
With the right choice
- of springs (lbs/height) for the use intended
- of the professional for the revalve and
- of consistent dampers
you can spare adjustments and lots of money and time. For amateur fun at least.
