Hawk vs Mu

I'm torn between 2 pads... Project Mu NS and Hawk HPS. The 2 shops I go to each have experience with one but not both of these pads. Can anybody give me some info on how they stack up against each other?

I have the MU's on my GSR and my EX had the HPS's on her RS. Both are great street pads and far superior to the IMO crap/dusty Brembo stock pads. I couldn't tell the difference in stopping power between the two. Though I always liked the RS's braking feel No ABS FTW.

No exsessive dust or noise with the Mu's or HPS each set cost 150 so its up to you

I've tried the ProjectMu B force (suppose to be better then the NS) and could care less for them. After driving on those for 300 miles and 1 track day I swapped to Performance Friction Z-rated pads. All I can say is that this things can handle! Street and track w/ r-comp tires no problem. No noise or dust either...

If you have the MU NS pads (Cause Project Mu makes different pads) and thay are noisey then someone didn't install them properly. The Mu NS will not be noisey at all if installed properly

My vote would be neither. The HPS's were terrible on my car. Lacked bite and stopping power.

I have Project Mu NS pads and they are great street pads in IMHO. They have way less brake dust than the stock Brembo pads. They squealed a little in the first couple of hundred miles but are completely quiet now after each stop.

I have the Hawk HPS and am very pleased with them. Much, much less dusting than stock. No noise. Have a nice bite and feel.

Mu > Hawk imo. The Hawk HPS lacks a bit in stopping power. But then again, if it's just a dd, cheap autozone pads will do the job.

ive been running the Mu Ns for almost 3 years now and still have more then half the pad left on the front and 3/4 on the back. there is some noise under light breaking but i got used to it. i had a set of hawks on my old integra and i didnt care for them. lots of dust compared to the Mu and they only lasted a year with normal daily driving. i just checked my pads before i took it in for inspection and couldnt believe how good these things hold up.

i went from the stock pads to project mu type-ns. with the mu ns pads, stopping is much better. there is no noise (re-use the stock shims). dusting is very minimal compared to the stock pads. overall these pads are great for street use only.

I have had both pads so far and by far I like the Mu pads better. The Hawks were on the noisy and lack any real initial bit. The Mu's on the otherhand are whisper quiet, have great wear and have good initial bit but still not what I was looking for but pretty damn good.

I have the project Mu ns pads front and rear. I have zero complaints about them, although I do not track my car, just spirited street runs, and DD. Way less dust than the stock janks, and Zero noise (re-use stock shims and copper anti-sieze).
