purchasing brakes for my Evo and need some help.

I've searched around on the forums but haven't got something quite definite to make my buying decision. Anyhow, my car is a daily non-modded evo and I don't plan on doing any track events just using my car for daily commuting.

I'd like to stick with stock but prices are quite steep. I'm not really big on the different types of brands out there for brake pads, but if you'd care to share I'd appreciate that gladly.

Thanks for the help Guys and Girls

Hawks glazed on me from just street driving. I issues a warning to anyone who wants those HPS pads. They do not have a lot of bite either.

Girodisc economic crisis is the ceapest setup right now for rotors and pads. Otherwise, Axxis ultimates or Gransport GS5, ATE fluid, Technafit lines.

So you think my best option would be to go with the giropads? how much am I looking at here. Thanks for the speedy responses as I'm in desperate need of some new brake pads.

are the giropads squeaky under light braking? Also, are they comparable to stock in all around performance?

Thanks for the help guys.

oh yeah I'm looking to spend about 150 for front and at tops end maybe 90 for the rear pads. I don't want to go to cheap, since normally going that route gives future headaches.

Check out the Preformance Friction pads in this thread, too:

I have not used them, but I'm going to need a street pads soon, and I'm considering these, and the Girodisc Magic Pads.

Are you looking for rotors too. We have a few inexpensive options that fit your driving style and budget very well.

We have our bailout special which is Front + Rear rotors and Pads for $245.00 + shipping. Our standard pads are a quiet low dust pad with performance characteristics very similar to OE. For $100.00 more you can step up to our Magic Pads which are very lower dust and low noise, but have slightly better overall performance over OE and great initial cold bite.

Fell free to PM us with any questions you have about what you need an what would best suit your needs we are happy to help.

Brake packages in the the vendor f/s section are relatively cheap. You should check those out!

Go with the magic pads. By the way, Johann says they have good cold bite. Yeah, I noticed this in the winter on the especially cold days - and Nebraska knows how to serve up a cold day.

Just installed Girodisc magic pads + steel braided lines last month, and I really like it. Less noise, and less dust even with aggressive driving and braking. Great for daily driven evos.
