Lets talk about brake proportioning valves.

I've read a few articles and am still puzzled about what they actually do. Before I started reading up about them I thought that it was a device to adjust Front and Rear brake bias, but it seems like its only there as a mechanism that amplifies/reduce braking pressure applied to your brakes eg. Input braking force => Porp valve => Output braking force.

Does this actually affects brake bias?

I guess I don't understand what you are doing. My Evo 8 has four wheel independent braking system controlled by the ABS. So, I don't think there is an actual proportioning valve on the car.

You're using this brake line restrictor but you don't know why?

 

You're right cfvfireman1, I got the car used and its in the car since I bought it. I did a little experiment yesterday and made me more puzzled about the system.

I was at position 4 since day 1 and I switched it to position 3 to see whats the difference. On paper it says that @ position 4 - 52 Bar and @ position 3 - 46 Bar but I needed to actually apply less pressure @ position 3 to brake.

Really confused now mates lol

 

OK now I get it. Is the rest of the system stock?
