Girodisc now has directional vane 1pc front slotted rotors!

Hey all. Before, all of our 1pc rotors where a pillar vane design. This design works well for lower speeds and pulling trailers but almost all aftermarket performance 1pc rotors are pillar vane because you only need one casting to do both sides. Everyone who tracks their cars can tell you that a directional vane provides much better cooling then a pillar vane.

For those that don't know directional vane rotors have a solid curved vane inside the rotor and as the rotor rotates it forces air in through the center and out through the vanes. The faster the rotor spins the more air it runs through cooling as you accelerate to the next corner. What you end up with is a 1pc rotor with better cooling that can take much more abuse then a standard pillar vane rotor and is much more resilient to warping or cracking under heavy repeated abuse.

Our rotors are still slotted and zinc coating for corrosion protect and will be replacing all our pillar vane rotors so these will also be included in our stage 2 kits.

Price on the pair of front rotors is $325.00 + shipping but we are offering free shipping on the first 10 sets for people to try them out and comment on them after a couple weeks of driving. This is just like the introductory sales we had on the Magic Pads.

Please feel free to call (360) 450-5537, e-mail: johann@girodisc.com, AIM: girodiscjohann or PM us for more info.

This is BIG news. Its really great to see you guys pushing the envelope that much further...

I just wish I could afford these right now. With the Redline Time Attack season gobbling up most of my funds and round 2 next weekend I'll have to wait...

sponsorship maybe...?

Cool, how much do they weigh?
Are rears avaliable?
How do they compare to Racing Brake curved vane rotors?

Weight over our old pillar vane rotors are the same but they are about 3/4 lbs lighter then the stocks.

Yes there is a left and right rotor now.

We do not have rears availible at this time. We do have fronts directional vanes for 04-09 STi though. LOL! Tell your freinds.

Those look like very nicely designed rotors. Finally somebody does proper curved vein rotors. I will mostly likely be needing a set by the end of the year. When do you expect to have rears? I'll probably do all 4 when the time comes. I'm localish so I am can swing by too

We probably won't be doing the rears. The forces applied on the rears are a fraction of whats on the front so pillar vane rears do hold up pretty well. Its costs a lot to have a casting made let alone a left and a right so we might do it but it won't be for a while. We also have Directional vane for 04-09 STi so spread the word.

Just received my set of directional vane front / pillar vane rear rotors w/ Magic pads. For those who have questions, Martin is a great guy to talk to on the phone (and the shipping was FAST!)

This is a great introductory price for 1-piece directional-vane front rotors, which I don't believe anyone else manufactures at this time. You either have to buy a standard pillar vane, or step up to a 2-piece.

For my application, I couldn't justify the price of the 2-piece, but the 1-piece directional-vane seems to fill the slot nicely in between OEM pillar vane and a 2-piece directional vane.

I cross-shopped the OEM rotors, PowerSlot, Stoptech, DBA, etc, and the Girodisc are in the same price range, although with the Girodisc you get the directional vane which nobody else offers.

Anyway, I'll post up some feedback once I get them installed w/ some miles.

I think these are just the coolest thing. Such a good price for a directional vane rotor. When my powerslots run out these will definitely be my next purchase. Will you be offering these in blanks also.
