FWIW Smike, Mitsu will not turn Evo rotors, ever, according to the dealers around here... Im not sure I buy it. I didnt pursue anyone else though as my rotors were absolutely destroyed and AMS checked them out after a tune and they didnt measure the thickness but because of the damage said not likely on the turning
If Mitsu won't turn Evo rotors why put the minimum thickness on the hat? If they should ever wear down to that thickness they would be mighty groovy. Maybe the word we are looking for is.....profit.

I disagree, I am sure there are individuals who drive in a manner making the minimum thickness attainable through solely driving and not turning. The minimum thickness is simply the minimum thickness, its not the "you're still okay to grind these" rating.

Saying that profit is the motivation is illogical as well as turning rotors is, what, $25 a piece? It will take a few minutes per rotor and requires nothing more than a tech to do it (no parts, no inventory). I would think turning rotors is actually reasonably profitable, as it is only a service and not a Mitsubishi product. Maybe I am wrong on that, or the cost, but even then, Mitsubishi is not some evil organization out to screw all of us Evo owners... Most of us don't deserve a warranty after what we have done to our cars anyway (driving, modifying, or otherwise) and rotor turning is a reasonably common practice that I don't think Mitsu would skimp on solely because they aren't bringing in stacks of cash.

Yes, they will turn rotors. I have had mine turned by the dealer. The OE pads that came on my car cracked. So I had uneven grooving. They replaced the pads and turned the rotors under warranty.

Well wtf is with my dealer... Nevermind, I shouldn't ask such a question, despite my thoughts that Mitsu is not an evil empire, they still are not a finely tuned machine... Still, mine were incapable of being turned, by anyone, because of how damaged they were.
