Should I get coilovers?

My evo is purely street driven. Right now I'm running Hotckis springs on the stock KYB struts. How do coilovers ride on the street? I like the idea of being able to raise ride height in the winter.

There is many diffrent kinds... Some for street and some for the track. If you get a good set of street coilovers(will cost a good bit) you will be very happy!!! I say if u have the cash getem!!

None for the Evo yet, but I had a set of Tein Basic on my 5th gen Prelude and really enjoyed them. Remember you don't have to drop $5K on them to get a good ride for the street.

Why do you feel like you need them? And what is your budget? I'm a proponent of a quality spring and shock setup for daily driven street cars. If your needs are to be even lower, then through ride quality and street driven out of the picture.

My need for them was based solely on being able to raise the car in the winter and drop it when the snow is gone.

Honestly if you have to ask if you need coilovers you probably don't

You should get coils, seems like decent stuff is right around 1g which is the price of a set of good tires anyways so that my help you justify the expense, I'm undecided on what brand to get tho.

A high quality set of coilovers that are designed and valved for street applications should and will ride better then stock.

You will have more comfort and have the ability to change your ride height. As gtworx said you will have to re-align everytime you change your height.

If you plan on going pretty low I would get a whiteline roll center kit especially if you drive aggressively on the street

They perform great and give excellent usage flexibility. Not as huge a difference as adding a new turbo and injectors, but definitely meets the criteria you mentioned. Go for it!

Coilovers allowed my tires to wear better across the entire width, unlike how the stock setup will wear the insides of the tires considerably faster.
