GTI is not an Evo
I've driven in a bunch of MI, OH, CT and soon NH winters. And I have a lower front lip. Never an issue. And I am talking 6in+ snow on the road. I do snowplow, but the Evo works great.

LOL I had a GTI and ripped my oil pan out twice. Evo's nor any other car are not designed to be lowered past a certain point. If you want it salmmed buy a civic. I wouldn't want to throw the suspension geometry off on a car like this, you will just be taken away from its handling capabalitites.
sportmach
i am only going for the performance, i'm either going to go with the sportmach or if i can find the bilsteins i will go with those, i wouldnt lower it, but by lowering you center of gravity, doesnt that help with handling, looking for more two cents

Swift Sports are -1.4 up front and -0.8 rear. They also have better rates than stock. So its not only CG.
Springs and struts are two different things. You can use these springs for your OE KYB struts. The Bilsteins would be an upgraded strut.

Can't dump an evo. You can dump and then try making hard turns, you will see the outcome.
and you, why dont you just tell us what will happen, instead of playing your little im high up game and i will let you figure it out on your own, some of us are actually trying to still learn

Dood, you heard of a SEARCH BUTTON!?!? GOOGLE!?!?! You need any more help!?!?!
If you tried going low as fawk on an evo or any certain cars that are NOT suppose to be lowered over a certain point, it tends to Fawk up your suspension real bad, let along that, you will have the WORST ride and time trial for time attack.
If you want a DUMP ride, get a civic, rsx, VIP, etc.
The REST of information, you can letch off of someone on here OR if you wanna be smart, help yourself, learn, then you will be searching all over this forum, using google, and be reading everything about suspension/coils/springs.
THE END!
I should make a goin low sticky....maybe after i do brakes?
Two ways going low makes your car worse:
1. Loss of suspension travel. Every inch you drop is an inch of bump travel you lose. You need that travel to soak up bumps, whether it be a bump on the street, or a mid-corner bump on the track. Also, if your car uses up all your bump travel while it's rolling, your spring rate spikes to infinity up front and you will understeer like poo. A lot of really low springs sit you on the bumpstops at rest.
2. Suspension geometry. Yes lowering reduces your center of gravity, but it also raises the roll center. The bigger the distance between these two, the more roll you'll have.
The Whiteline roll center kit can help #2 to a certain extent. But for big drops it's not enough.
