Raybestos vs. Posi-Quiet
Chances are your braking is tire limited, and will be for the first stop with just about any pad. You may even have a more positive response on the brakes with economy pads than with performance pads at cold temperatures.
I'm more concerned about the the third, fourth, fifth stop - or even a single stop from very high speed.. Or, say, the 20th run from 60->30, when I'm halfway down the mountain and there's still a 400' drop on the downhill side... I've overheated my pads before, and, although it was certainly an interesting and useful experience, I strongly recommend reasonable precautions to avoid it.
For my DD pads I'm using pads made by Monroe. I have had them on my car and they work great. I have been in the process of tuning my car make WOT runs and then stoping numerous times without fade issues. I also have ducting ran to the front so that helps. They are cheap too because of a rebate they had. I think they have another rebate coming up this fall. rockauto has them.
It's not the first stop I'd worry about....

Also with the weather changes they have been driven on in the winter and summer. Its a great brake pad for DAILY use
