Lowered evo quick question.

I just lowered my evo with Hotchkis springs and I just ruined my CF lip, I like the looks but cant afford to keep buying CF lips, Im running 17's would installing 18's give me a front lift a bit?

actually it will. i was running the stock enkies on my slammed car (tein s techs) and would scrape on EVERYTHING, i swithed to my 18's with a 40 sidewall tire and my scraping has almost completely stopped, unless i was on something very steep.

i know that Hotchkis springs are not as an aggressive drop as the teins, so with the bigger rim, you should have a decent amount more clearence.

generally, the 18" rims will have your car sit higher. but it does depend on what tire tire you run on the 17" and 18". if you think about it, 18" tires are $100+ more expensive than 17" tires. so in the end, you'll end up spending more on tires than buying a new lip every so often. if you're just on hotchkis springs, i'm sure you'll be okay driving around. you just have to be careful. i'm lower than you and i know people who are lower than me...we are all fine. in the end, its in the drivers hands

good luck

I scrape on my driveway unless I go at an angle and very slow. Even then I scratch so I actually super glued an aluminum ruler under each side of my lip. Now when it scratches its wearing on the ruler and not my plastic bumper.

how are you damaging the lips?
we have so much debris on the freeways in DFW,
an inch difference wouldn't make much difference...
driving too close to the SUV ahead doesn't give enough opport. to avoid the tire tread they just straddled
I just rolled an Armadillo last week, and cleared it up front, only to striing him up on the rear sway bar--gross
