Im going to be installing in Rotors and pads soon and I want to do something with my caliper, they are pretty horrible. I found these on EBAY, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...Q5fAccessories

They are front and rear caliper covers. Has anyone tried these and if so do you like them.

Ummm...first of all those probably wont fit assuming you have real brembo calipers. Second of all why dont you just repaint your calipers? Im assuming the clearcoat on yours hase gone away

 

you want to put a fake brembo caliper over a real brembo caliper?

 

Yeah, the clear coat is gone on all of them except the Driver side rear which is still in perfect condition, the sticker is half missing on two of them also. I would like to paint them but i don't have the time to do it and have the car be down for a day or two to paint them. I was just looking for a faster way to solve the problem, and since I was doing pads and rotors anyway, thought i would see if anyone has tried these and what people thought of them.. It seems the decision is no, Lol.

you wouldnt be really solving the problem by putting these on, Just covering it up. I dont know how durable those are, but if you autox or track your car at all, I cant imagine that material standing up to the heat. Could possibly melt, overheat, or do something nasty to your braking system. track your car until the calipers turn black , or just re clear coat them. problem solved.

 

if you absolutely have to you can repaint your calipers on the car but come on you drive an evo not a honda

 

haha, this is funny.

 

get some red caliper paint and engine enamel clear coat with ceramic and some new brembo decals (check ebay)

loosen the nuts on your wheels, take a floor jack, jack your car up, put it on stands remove the nuts and wheels. sand your calipers down clean them with the caliper cleaner that will come in the caliper pain set (if you buy the duplicolor one) put 2 coats of paint on them, let them sit for 1-2 hrs between coats, apply the brembo decals and spray with clear coat, put your wheels back on...

please dont buy those covers. you have BREMBOS dont turn them into FREMBOS

 

just be glad u have real brembos, and everyone's do it eventually! my did before my warranty was over and luckily i complained enough about it and got new ones free, but only some dealerships were doing this? i don't know if they still do this.

 

Just repaint yours! It wouldn't take long at all....

 

I have seen people do thermal dispersant coatings on their calipers. Now that could actually be functional and no more dull,peeling calieprs.
