just got a chance to autox on the axxis ultimates this weekend. $126 shipped for all 4 corners and they stop incredibly well! Bite is somewhat better then stock around town, very noticeably better when railing on it in autox. No noise, lower dust and dirt cheap. Can't ask for much more.

Still like the Ferodo DS 2500s (with OE metal AND fiber shims) best for a high performance street/light track pad. If those cost too much, I hear that the Girodisc Magic pads are next in line.

They are NOT track pads. DS2500s have a MOT (max oper. temp) of 1000F. The Evo is a heavy car. It will go well north of that on the track. Sure some have tracked on them, but its a serious risk when you go over the pads limits.

I have IR gunned my pads at 900F+ after a good down lap and that was with brake ducts.

I'll never understand why people skimp on the most important piece of consumables (save for their tires) that keep them from not running head first into a tire barrier.

If you track your car, get pads that can handle the temperatures. Don't put yourself and those around you at risk because you're lazy or cheap.

Does not matter. I was running an open day and tracking my temps. You will still overheat your brakes.

Welcome.

Stock pads are unknown, but if I had to guess 800 range.

HPS are only good to 600F. And lack anything resembling bite.

I currently use Ferrodo pads on all four. I like them and they seem to last for quite a while. Of course the longevity depends on how often you drive it.

That has nothing to do with what we are talking about here.
