Stupid brake pads

Stupid brake pads.

You'll note that the OUTER right pad is not down to the wear indicator. (also compare to the new pads above).

The INNER pad, however, has NO wear indicator and is down to the damn backing plate.

Now I have a scored/pitted/ruined rotor. ARRRRGHHGH.

Gotta check those pads each day when you check the tire pressure.

9000 total miles.

200 HARD track miles at Virginia International Raceway. The "SKREEEEEEEEE" started at the END of the last session of the second day. I think the last of the inner pad sort of "flaked" off.

I bought replacement pads from Mitsubishi. Despite coming with a "Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Parts" sticker, the box is a Brembo box with standard Brembo pads.

Something's wrong. No way the inners should do that with the outters looking so good. I don't know what it is, but you have a problem somewhere in your system...

Strange, isn't it? Frankly, I think it was a defect with the inner brake pad. I think it "flaked off" under heavy braking.

One pads does that, OK, it's a defect. But if 2 pads do that and they're BOTH inners...sorry, not a pad defect. That's WAY too coincidental. You've got a problem somewhere.

The stock pads wear really quick. I changed mine out at about 9K and had about 50% of the stock pads left. Mine were wearing evenly (inside to outside, all four corners), however. My car gets alot of easy highway miles, so I was suprised to see the brakes that far gone.

Right. You'll notice that there is only one inner pad displayed. That one is the right inner, the left inner is fine.

I also think it might have something to do with the fact that VIR is run clockwise, and I did in fact trigger the ABS and the DSC during the runs.
