KW variant 3 questions
Is there any KW varinat 3 reviews?how good are they?I m Just looking for a set of coilover that it's good track and as well as daily drive and also it'll last long.what top plate should be used on the KW variant 3?plz HELP!!!(this is for evo 8)
They're good, but standard spring rates SUCK. Helps to have them set up and customized by someone who knows what they're doing.
I would avoid buying off the shelf V3's.

They are 9k front and 6k rear, which is poopy if you care about handling.

Sure seems like the off the shelf rates could be swapped front to rear...
which would be 340lb front 515lb rear.. not perfect, but close if someone is pinching pennies
The rears are also 8" vs. 7" front, but looking at the setup, I'd think they could be swapped and still utilize the tender springs.

i HAD a set. pulled them off, and sent them back.
they are GIANT piles of ****. the collars are made out of freaking PLASTIC! the helper springs were always binding. rode like ****.
I ended up calling Mueller. i was going ot go with Ohlins instead, but he recommended the Skunk2 coils. bought them and put them on, and love them. no issues. they ride great, and handle even better.
I would avoid the KW's at all costs man.

I run KW V3s with 12kg/16kg rates. I too would say avoid the off the shelf rates. For the money you spend (especially if you can find them used), they can be a pretty competitive coilover. There are a couple of BSP guys running these in my region as well, that are pretty competitive (~1 second off the Berry car at SD this year).
The only issue I've had so far was due to my installation error with the Whiteline Max-C camber/caster plates. I didn't tighten the top nut down as tight as possible, and I had loud clunking. Once that was taken care of, I haven't had any problems.
