6 Piston BBK's

Hey all.

As I run my car in time attack, and do a fair chunk of circuit, I have been looking at BBK's to fit under 17" rims. (I use Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R 17*9" +30 rims as my track rims)

The brands Im looking at are Alcon, Endless and AP Racing.

Do you guys believe there is another brand I should be looking at. The main reason Im upgrading, is Im sick of loosing my brakes, and I think it would be a good idea to give my brakes a bit more headroom, especially with my additional power...

Who is a good vendor that sells these kits?

What do you guys use?

Is it even possible to fit BBKs on 17" wheels?

^ Yup...

Which is why im looking for the biggest combo I can fit under 17's...

Some classes of racing, also require stock rim + offset...

Not true. As long as you can stick to Alcon, Endless or AP Racing, you can fit rotors up to 343mm in size and still fit a 17" rim!

Reason being, is that the 'race' style calipers that those manufacturers offer are slightly more compact then the cheaper brands...

Check first post champ!

17*9" +30 offset. I run 255/40R17 Bridgestone RE55S on the track..

If you are interested in the ALCON kit you should PM ExtremeDSM. He has a set he is looking to sell.

What where yo using with your current brakes and how did they fail? We offer only parts to improve your stock calipers and many of our customers get steller results 500whp time attacking etc... With a 6 Piston kit you are not increasing the rotor very much so the upgrade in braking is in the sizing of the pistons. It will give you more clamping force but your stock Brembo Calipers are quick large and there are many things you can do that can drastically improve the performance of them.

You should PM me and let me know what you are having problems with your current setup. There is a good chance we can fix you up and save you a bundle over a BBK. BBKs are expensive initially, but you have to also take maintenance into account. Pads are more expensive, as is the rotor. Depending on the type of BBK you get you also have to account for availability and wait time for those parts. Not trying to sway your decision but if we can help and save you money then its worth at least exploring.
