I ordered a set of HEL ss brake lines from Buschur about 1 or 2 months ago. Just got around today to swapping them in. I started with the front lines. I removed the first one and when I went to install the new line I noticed that the ss brake line has a slightly different size fitting ( not as deep) as the stock one. So the hard line coming out of the fenderwell has more threads showing than it did with the oem piece-- even after making sure it wa snice and snug. Also noticed that the retianer clip on the chassis side does not fit with the new lines, HEL did not come with new ones. I will call and see if I was supposed to get new ones, but I am curious if anyone else had this issue? I bled the brakes afterwards. pressurized the system to 20 psi and the lines didnt leak fluid, but I just dont think these lines are the correct application. I just did the two front lines, and left the stock lines on the rears just in case during my road test somehting would happen I would at least have rear brakes..heh.
Is this how they are supposed to be, more thread on the line being ok and no retianer to hold the line in place? That just seems like a design flaw if I did get the correct ones. I dont have pics up, but I will try to get some later if that helps. Thanks.
