Robispec Swaybars
Robispec Swaybars
For you auto-x/ road course guys when you upgraded your sway bars did you do front and rear or just one or the other. Im looking into the Robispec sway bars and tryin to see which set-up provides the best balance and turn in response.
What do you have as your current setup. I'm on springs and oem Bilsteins, so the Robispec bar helped alot, but if you're on coilovers, I dont think you need it. Also, after runnning the Robi bar all summer, I dont think anyone needs such a big bar. I'm only on the second stiffest setting and I oversteer on more open auto courses. However, it works well for the technical courses. I dont think I'll ever hit the 3rd or 4th setting at all. If you have coils, run a higher spring rate in the rears and you'll be good.
Really depends on what rubber your running - how wide and how sticky - that'll determine if you need more bar or not and where. With full slicks, or 285 r'comps i've got both of Robi's bars (settings change upon conditions).
I've made the mistake of keeping the same settings... I was running on r-comps and was tail-happy when I switched to street tires... a little adjustment of the rear sway solved everything...
I am sure the Robi's are great but i have no data.
SmikeEvo used to run the swift front and rear sways and did extremely well in Autox.
I run the Whiteline FSB and Perrin RSB. Haven't had the setup during autox yet but will next season.

It's best to do both. Many people do JUST the rear because first of all, it's easy to install and seconds, masks understeer by creating oversteer.
It's best to have both bars. Installing the front bar isn't easy, but certainly not impossible. If you've only gone as far as doing oil changes and installing headlight bulbs, the job's not for you. If you can install clutches or do engine swaps, it's cake.

Robi does have a fix that makes the front sway bar adjustable which will save money and LOTS of time. I have not seen them on his page but have seen them at his shop. they are adjustable stabilizer brackets
