Annoying Brake Squeeeeeek
I'm at the end of my rope with my brakes squealing. I live in New England so its NOT warm but my brakes are driving me insane with the subtle squealing noise they make everytime I come to a stop. I hear that EVO brakes tend to do this in the cold but what can I do to fix this issue. Squealing brakes = POS....I went to the dealership and they said my brakes are fine so I'm not sure what to do. Any recommendations?
Check the anti squeal shim, the bracket thats held in by the pins. They might be not sitting properly causing the pad shim to vibrate between itself and the pad, or you need some hi-temp grease between the shim and pad.

thanks I will take a look. I was thinking maybe the salt from the road is causing the brakes to squeak even though I keep the car very clean through the winter

You guys are not gonna like my answer or solution...so take this with a grain of salt.
I had installed Ferodo DS2500's on my car a couple of months ago after having my calipers powder coated. I went with the same brake set up I had prior because it just worked well. Racing Brake F+R rotors with DS2500's. (The first time I had it done was at AMS as I had just bought the car and wanted the fluid flushed etc)
After I installed them a couple of months ago, I got the damn squeeking noise. Knowing it was something I had done on my part since I was just running the same setup for two years with out a peep, I pulled the fronts apart.
I grabbed my old shims from AMS (it was a double shim on each side of the pad), I cleaned each shim, and the back of the pad, and applied high temp rtv between the pad and the shim. I did this to keep the shim from moving around under braking.
Lubed the contact points and have not had an issue since. Hope this helps.

I've had a lot of success with Girodisc's shims ($30 for front/rear set) combined with copper grease:

The Girodisc pad shims work good.
You may also want to try a tube of Brembo copper brake grease to use on the back of the pads.
It's not cheap, but it's waayyy thicker than the thin tubes of 'disc brake quiet' you get at AutoZone.
I bought mine online from an Acura dealer for about $25 (Acura TL has Brembo front brake). This was actually part of a TSB from Acura to quiet down the front brakes on the TL.

POS= Performance Oriented System, LOL!
They sacrfice dusting and noise for stopping ability!
About the RTV fix, there is a few ideas floating around as to what works. Some people apply grease between the pad and shim allowing the shim to float in grease which absorbs vibration. The other idea is to super glue the shim to the pad in order to keep the shim from moving and causing vibration. I have tried the first method and it worked some. I will be performing the second method this weekend. But I just live with my loud hawk HP Plus pads and DBA rotors, man the stop great and hold heat well!! So it's a trade off for comfort and performance. Good luck!

+1 Take apart the pads and clean the calipers with braker cleaner. Apply anti-sieze to the shims on both sides and on the pins. This should stop the vibration which is causing the squeeking on the pads. I have Ferodos and had the same problem until I did this...
