Is this brake pad wear weird?

changed my brake pads yesterday due to my brake light coming on occasionally. Car has 44K miles so I figured it was time anyways. Besides it's not that expensive and it's very easy to do. When I took my outside front pads off I noticed some weird looking wear. They were worn down on the outsides at an angle, same angle on both pads. It may be nothing, but I wanted to check it out. Here are the pictures.

I think a rock got caught in this one at one time. The rotor has a matching groove in it too

That is not wear, the pads were cut that way when new.

Is it ne, or do those pads look like they got plenty of life left in them?

If thats the stock pads then the "chamfer" on both ends are normal. They are designed that way to reduce brake squeal noises.
The grooves u probably had a rock stuck in there some time ago.

By the way, looks like u have some life left in those pads too.

Correct. Non issue. As a pad wears it will come into the curve and actually give more surface area but it looks like you have a lot more street miles left on that pad. sux about it being destroyed

ok, thanks guys. changing them actually made a big difference in brake feel. I'm glad I did it.
