Brake cable snapped
Brake cable snapped
So I had brakes done less than 10,000 mi ago. I think it may have been wearing down the rotors, but the place just changed the brake pads and didn't say I needed anything else. However as soon as one week after getting it back I started hearing the squeak sound when braking, and some felt wrong about the front brakes.
Now I was driving yesterday and it felt like the front brakes weren't being engaged. So I pressed harder on the pedal (mistake) and some cable snapped, such that the brake pedals no longer show any pressure.
So is it the brake line? Do I need to replace something like this: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/Me...OODRIDGE-26052
Also how much should I reasonably expect to pay for a the full front brake replacement? Is it just pads + rotors? Or are there other parts I may need? Should I buy it online? Should I trust the shop with the parts? Finally, how much should I expect to pay for the service?
I am a newb regarding Evo maintenance.
Thanks,
Alex

Appears that there is still some tension enough for partial braking to work (maybe the rear ones are still connected). At least I won't have to tow it.
Engine bay - looks fine but I wouldn't know what to look for. I had the timing belt replaced last summer so I would think they would have noticed any problems.
What do I need to look at the stock brake lines? I have no tools, was planning to take it to a shop...

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Brakes are not cable driven. Check brake fluid res. for any fluid. If that is empty then you have blown a line for sure. Go check all brake lines.
Have the car towed to a reputable shop. Do not drive it!

Thanks. I will tow it to the shop in the next few days.
But I would like to solve this problem also: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post8213292
