Torn Upper Ball Joint Rear Upper Control ARM (passenger)

I was getting my rotors done... and found out that the right rear upper control arm ball joint is torn leaking grease everywhere....

How critical is it to fix it? also do i need to buy the entire rear Control arm...

Search yielded some threads but no definate answers...

That should be replaceable without needed the whole arm. Contact RusselIM.

Mine is also leaking at 16200 miles. A knocking sound coming from the rear passenger side started 3 weeks ago each time I hit a bump or pothole. Checked and found out grease is leaking thru a gap between the boot and the arm. Jacked the car up yesterday and checked for ball joint play but there was none. Drove around the block and haven't heard the knocking sound again. Guess my car simply needed a 3 week rest.

see if whiteline has them, I know they have the front lower balljoints by themselves, instead of having to buy the whole control arm..

No such luck...whiteline only makes ones for the front.

Worst Case scenario.... once the grease is gone... it can corrode and snap...
