People can speculate all they want about the # of runs a certain tire may get, but one thing to consider is the pavement you normally run on. It's going to play a huge role in tire life.

he's in my region and we run on all the same tarmacs. and it wasn't speculation. he's actually gone through a few sets with an average of 120 runs per set.

My statement wasn't directed at you actually...

I was just generalizing that if someone on here is considering buying tires and reads what someone wrote saying, " I can get X amount of runs on brand x tires" to not expect/assume they should get same results.

Choosing the right tire also depends on your suspension setup. Are you running in AS all stock?

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
NT01 update: Back from Indy. Not the best weather for real testing on the tires. It was 40F with 35 mph gusts. 30 cars or so in grid. Best lap was actually after almost running over a corner worker who was in the course (I stopped). But I got a re-run right then. So tires had some heat in them.

Overall, happy so far. I could hold an inside line much tighter than other cars. I need to increase RSB though. On my street tires, car rotated easily. Now on the r-comps, need more back there.

Track day on the 31st.

very nice. thanks a lot for helping me get a better understanding of what these tires are capable of. looks like they'll be a good fit for me. there was another evo at the last event i went to running the nt01 and was pulling down times that were 3 seconds better than mine. but, there was also an evo in STU class that had me beat by 5 seconds... lol. driver skill accounts for so much in this sport. perfect example right there: BSP evo IX with r-comps versus STU evo IX (unknown tire). which would you think would win? STU car pulled in a 44.5 (finishing 1st in pax) and the BSP car pulled a 46.5.
