Tires

For all you Falken Azenis RT615's user. Since these tires got discontinued, what have you guys been using for replacement that would offer both price and performance?

isn't there a RT615k now? I hear the compound is supposed to be better. Haven't a lot of people moved to RE01, Star Specs, etc.?

I switched from stock Advans to Star Specs and with every day they wear in I like them more. I would highly recommend them, but I can't compare them to the other tires listed.

Can anyone here who has run both the RE01 and the RE11 tell me if they notice a difference on the newer tire?

They have the NEW RT615 now.
So i don't think they're discontinued yet.

The NEW RT615k have a better compound then the older RT615s.
I guess the new ones supposedly last a bit longer and have better time laps.

If you want something that does the same "work" as the RT615, the NT05s are up there.
OR if you want something better, NT01s or R888s will do the job.

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec's. Only 135 a tire from Tire Rack (plus, they won a Car and Driver comparison last year)

I picked up a set of Kuhmo Ecsta XS form Neal@the Tire Rack. Might want to consider them, particularily if you autox. Very sticky. Highest lateral G's in there class. Comparable price.

Me? DD, autox, occasional drag. I'm not going to pushing them to much on the street as I'd rather save the tread for the track. Wet pavement not bad, heavy rain at high speeds, not a great idea. Fine, if you drive sensibly in those conditions. I'm hoping to get around 15k on them.

You may want to consider Hankook V12 Evos.
