17x9 Concrete Info

Allright, I have just been searching for over an hour in this forum, drowning in conflicting info. I am looking to move to a 17x9 rim and run 255/40/17 rubber for a set of HPDE/Track day wheels. This is for my Evo IX on the Bilsteins/SpecR setup.

If you are running 17x9 wheels, with no spacer required, please post the brand, model, offset.

In all the searching I have been able to identify three brand/models that seem to fit this bill:

5zigen FN01-RC 17x9 +35
Buddy Club P1 QF 17x9 +35
Volk CE28N 17x9 +35

And one 8.5 width

Enkei RPF1 17x8.5 +30

Can anyone add any concrete (known) wheels to this list?

Everyone's suspension and alignments are different. That said, I ran 17x9 +35 Rota G Forces with (almost) no rubbing at all. Under extreme track day loads I would get a little.

Agreed, but mainly want to make sure no caliper interference issues.

no point in getting rpf1s in 8.5s, they look horrible.

I've also ran the 17x9 +35 5Zigen's with zero issues.

I've got a set of 18x9.5" that I can run with no spacers and they don't rub. Of course their custom offset Forgeline's - but still it shows there are a lot of options out there if you take the time to get a setup that fits.
If you don't wanna run spacers (me either) stay away from +40 enkei's and such. If you don't wanna rub your rear fenders, stay away from the +22 Volks and such.

How about 17x9 RPF1's, I need a good light and cheap wheel for 255 slicks. Was not aware of an issue with 17x8.5 RPF1's, I run the 17x8 RPF1's for my street wheels and they fit and look fine.

From what a few hours of searching on here told me, the 17x9 RPF1 +35 will hit the front calipers without a spacer. Still looking for someone to chime who has tried it and knows.

i have these and they fit great. in the back i get a tiny amount of rubbing on the fenders going over big dips with 255/40 star specs. the rub is so light it wont even leave marks on the sidewall, i just hear it occasionally.

17x9 +27 Team Dynamics fit the Evo perfectly. No spacers, no fender work, no hubcentric rings required.

17x9.5 +24 Advan TC-II requires rear fender work, but fits without spacers!

17x9.5 +38 Enkei NT03 fits perfectly. No spacers, no fender work!

All of these wheels weight under 20lbs, with the Advans being the lightest at 17.xx. My advice is to find the lightest and strongest your budget allows

If aggressively cornering, use a 10mm spacer up front with the 17x9 +35's - u don't need to use a spacer in the rear with 17x9 +35's

Off subject, but what do you think of the NT-05's? Nice looking ride there!

Rota DPT 17x9 +35. Clears calipers without spacers, allows for a 255/40/17 with stock fenders, light weight at only ~19 lbs, affordable at only $850 shipped for the set of four, looks awesome on the Evo 8/9

The odd part is the newer set - just purchased earlier this year - is the one that cracked. My other set in HyperBlack I've had for nearly 3 years and had loved them. Bottom line, I am very lucky that this cracked rim did not cause a serious accident. I am done with sub-par products and looking forward to lighter and stronger products.
