I'm ordering a set of coilovers in the next few weeks and have narrowed it down to either PIC Coilovers or a set of Stance GR+ Pro. I understand that the stock MR Bilsteins paired with a set of Swift springs will be better but I want the adjustability of a coilover. I'll probably get flamed for it but the bilsteins are going and I'm getting a set of coilovers. So what I'm asking is between the PIC Select Series Coilovers and the Stance GR+ Pro which one would you go with and why? I searched and didn't find much on PIC and Stance. Anyways, whatever you guys have to say will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brendan
Thanks,
Brendan
What do you want to adjust? If you change the ride height, you will need to get an alignment and corner balance - every time. And once you dial in the dampening adjustments - you never touch them again.

I love the PIC Select R2s I have. The 10k/12k spring rates provide exceptional balance, giving the car a very predictable RWD-like feel. The car will hang the back end out under power at the limit. The car virtually never understeers. They are firm, but not harsh or bouncy.
With the spring rates being that high however, traction is reduced in loose traction conditions such as rain and snow. Makes for a good time in the snow...and that's not being sarcastic, it provides for hours of entertainment in a good snow storm.
The only negative is that they are heavy, weighing just as much as the stock suspension. This is the only reason I am looking to sell mine, and looking for something lighter with the same spring rates and similar damping. I’m pretty obsessed with the weight of my car and dropping unsprung weight would be great. If you have some interest in possibly buying a used set, send me a PM.

Sounds great. I'm thinking of possibly getting the set of PURE Tuning PICs or possibly just regular PICs. But I have to call them and see what the difference is. So daily driving with the R2s was not an issue? I'm pretty used to a firmer ride now so it shouldn't bother me to much. Sorry though I'm not interested in a used set. Good luck with the sale though!Originally Posted by 03whitegsr

Ride height mostly. I'm only going to be changing it a couple times a year. I understand from your previous posts that the stock bilsteins paired with the right spring set up will yield better gains, but I can't stand the ride height of the swifts. I'm not worried about getting alignments or what not, I know that is crucial with adjusting suspension.Originally Posted by SmikeEvo

Why are you going to change it? And its an alignment and corner balance for a properly setup suspension.
I never had issues with my Evo + lip in MI/OH/NH snows.

If you go any lower than the Swifts you will need a RCK. You cannot slam an Evo. If you want to go higher, see the GTWorx springs.

Go with the PIC coilovers if you want coilovers mainly for track use.
Go with the Stance GR+ Pro because they have helper springs. This makes them better for street use. They are also more adjustable so you can mess around with more settings.

Lower in the spring/summer raise in the winter. I don't mean to be rude but I've made up my mind that I'm going to be selling my stock MR Bilsteins. I pretty much just want to know out of the two coilovers I've mentioned which one would everyone prefer and why. I understand every coilover will have their pros and cons but I'll be DDing with some auto x and track mixed in.Originally Posted by SmikeEvo

i primarily autox my evo, which is also my dd, and sometimes hit the track as well so i went with the gr+ pros cuz of the ability to adjust the settings depending on what i'm doing. don't have any experience with the pic's tho

I like both setups, but I would recommend the Stances as the better choice. Touge Factory has a presence on here, and they can provide all the support you will need. If you have the cash, shell out for the GR+Pro, with the SS-D option. Its only a few hundred more, and has better valving. Also, I would recommend you to go with Swift springs. Stance has a callaboration with Swift, and are offering Swift springs as standard on their higher end line. I think something like 10k/10k or 10/12k will be a great all around setup.

Have you had any experience with PICs, just curious as you seem pretty biased. Thanks for the info though!Originally Posted by chu

I don't know what made my post sounded biased. Before I got my coilovers, the PICS were what I wanted. They're a great setup too, especially the PureTuning versions that are running the Swift springs.Originally Posted by BrendanS

I would stay away from Stance. I had a terrible experience with my Stance 3-way coilovers. The shocks blew, and Stance/Touge Factory refused to honor my warranty. I lost a lot of money on them.

Just the fact that you didn't say much about PICs. But it's all good, thanks for the help!Originally Posted by chu
