Car jerking at high speeds
Car jerking at high speeds
Yes, I did a search but couldn't find anything close enough to my problem. I just bought a 93 Evo (love being in Japan!) and I took it off base to test it out. There are a few things I've noticed with the car, the shifting isn't as smooth as it could be (low/bad tranny fluid?), and when I get the car up around 120 kmh, the car starts to like...jerk and the steering wheel starts to move back and forth. Was thinking governor but that doesn't kick in until around 180kmh. The car came with crappy tires so I'm thinking that the tread isn't worn evenly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
I was just reading in the other thread...and it said the ECU is adaptive? The guy who owned it before me never really drove it too fast, could it be the ECU limiting me sooner? Would that explain why it shifts rough?
u do realize ur in the us lancer forums..and not the Evo forums right? the guys at the Evo forum can help u better, plus if u go there, they have a BUNCH of troubleshooting with the EVO lots of noice alot of the guys also said the thing about the wheel moving and stuff, check out the Evo troubleshoot not the lancer
oh and also about u being in jap and getting an evo there? u lucky dog! wish i was in jap, id get an MR2 and an EVO do u know how much it is to import an evo from there? for a skyline a used one its the price of the car, then add 900 for united states over seas shipping.

Alignment at lower speeds is perfect..as far as a boost issue that could be true because my over boost warning light on my controller has been coming on at low rpms. As far as I know you cannot import an evo into the states from Japan...and to import a skyline it costs a LOT. Around $25,000. You have to change out the doors, the emissions, gauges, all windows, some other things and plus the cost for them to actually ship it. But it is worth it because a Skyline in the states would sell for more than that
I was actually thinking of doing that just to make a profit when I get stationed back in the States and buying an Evo VIII. But to get around that kind of stuff..a friend of mine is shipping his engine back as a "coffee table". He mounted a piece of glass to the top of it lol
