Car jerking at high speeds

Yes, I did a search but couldn't find anything close enough to my problem. I just bought a 93 Evo (love being in Japan!) and I took it off base to test it out. There are a few things I've noticed with the car, the shifting isn't as smooth as it could be (low/bad tranny fluid?), and when I get the car up around 120 kmh, the car starts to like...jerk and the steering wheel starts to move back and forth. Was thinking governor but that doesn't kick in until around 180kmh. The car came with crappy tires so I'm thinking that the tread isn't worn evenly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Tires, brake rotors, or alignment.

Kind of thought it would be that...also I'm not sure if the problem is related at all but around 5k rpm the over boost warning light on my boost controller pops up..

I was just reading in the other thread...and it said the ECU is adaptive? The guy who owned it before me never really drove it too fast, could it be the ECU limiting me sooner? Would that explain why it shifts rough?

Is your car stock? Automatic? could be a boost related issue.

Alignment at lower speeds is perfect..as far as a boost issue that could be true because my over boost warning light on my controller has been coming on at low rpms. As far as I know you cannot import an evo into the states from Japan...and to import a skyline it costs a LOT. Around $25,000. You have to change out the doors, the emissions, gauges, all windows, some other things and plus the cost for them to actually ship it. But it is worth it because a Skyline in the states would sell for more than that I was actually thinking of doing that just to make a profit when I get stationed back in the States and buying an Evo VIII. But to get around that kind of stuff..a friend of mine is shipping his engine back as a "coffee table". He mounted a piece of glass to the top of it lol

Does the jerking go with rpm, speed or around turns? if its with rpm, its more than likely a turbo problem. If its speed or turns, tires, alignment or even the AWD system

Turns it is ok, RPM it doesn't do anything funny, just speed as far as I can tell.

if it's with speed, it's definately alignment. if it was something with the engine, it would rattle whenever it hits thta certain rpm range thru each gear.

yea, you might not feel it that much at low speeds. it's some science that i cant explain, but this happens when wheels are not balanced well too, from my experience.
