SHould i lower my car?

hi wassup all! as of right now i love the way the stock suspension rides. i love the stiffness the way it is right now. the only thing i dont like is the 3 inch gap. i was wondering if i change the springs on the car would the car still feel the same. i basically want the same feel as stock but loose the big gap. i dont want a choppy ride. this has prolly been answered already but cna someone help me out. also wat kinda spring do u guys recommend. to keep it close to stock.. and would i have to get a chamber kit. i dont want to replace the entire assembly with full coilovers. thanks people

You will lose some ride quality when the car is lowered. The gap will be reduced, and your handling will improve, but you will trade that for comfort. Matched with the correct shocks and a mild drop, it shouldn't feel choppy.

A good rule of thumb is that most cars can be lowered about 1.5 inches without complications. Beyond that, changes in a severely lowered car’s suspension may negatively affect ride quality, tire wear and increase the risk of bottoming out

What good springs are out there that will lower the car less than 1.5"? I don't really care about ride quality, the rougher the better.

Tein S.Tech lowers the car around 2 inches. I recommend kg/mm, their drop is closer to about 1.5 inches.

If this car will ever be tracked I highly recommend you stay away from any progressive spring. very unpredictable on the edge.

How so? Will it lift more due to the extremely stiff chassis? I've never tracked my car before, so do you think it's best to leave the suspension stock?

I got Tein S Tech spring on my Evo for about 2 months now and the ride feels like the same as stock. I'm amazed on how the handling went well and the big wheel gap are gone. The ride was awesome and it doesn't pull either to the left or right. I haven't brought my car to any alignment shop because it still run straight as stock.

progressive springs are just as the sound, the stiffness is progressive. You get a nicer ride on the highway or roads, but on track the suspension will be very unpredictable. You will go into a corner thinking you are fine, because the suspension feels good, then all the sudden you hit the bump stops which equals no more suspension travel which usually equals sliding off course. It's just not a good idea to get them if you are going to head out to the track often IMO, others will tell you different. For occaisional messing around on the track they will be fine... also the look of the car on the street will be greatly improved

basically im saying if you want to drive real fast around corners often, you should get new struts and springs You could always down the line get a different setup.. which is why springs are a great idea for a good price
