ok so i sold the X wheels and now i need 255-40-17
and im looking at

1. hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
2. Sumitomo HTR Z III
3. dunlup Direzza DZ101

i need something thats going to last and be a fun sprint tire..

Then 245/40 or 235/45 is what I would get. 255/40 are heavier and wider than you need. They will give you slower responses in acceleration and turn-in feel.

I've had the Dz101 before on a different car and they are decent but not great in the best conditions.

not sure why you keep putting the dz101's in your list, you need to replace them with z1 * spec's. The dz101's are not worth the money, read some reviews on them. Get the star spec's, the only issue is they are louder than most tires, but if you have an evo, I don't think you really care about that.

Like SmikeEvo said number's 1 & 2. I've had the Sumitomo's in factory size and they were ok. Handling was ok but braking sucked. They did last a while though. Also has a soft sidewall.

I have not tried out the Hankook's yet, but if I can afford an extreme summer tire that is what I will buy after coming off of a lesser tire. Just isn't worth it to me. Buy the Hankooks

+1 for the Ventus V12. Great tire, i'm going to be getting another set of those after I run my NT01's into the ground :-D

x2 I just got a set of these put on and couldn't be happier. I recently was running azenis 615's and these have very similar grip but have half the noise.

i have had kumho exsta xc for the last year. very good dry, rather dangerous wet. abrupt loss of traction in turns, no warning. although they aquaplane normally. VERY cheap.

sure ill remove them from my list and put star specs if u buy them for me!!! srry but there out of my price range!!!
