Hello,
This all started shortly around 68k (currently 75k, yeah, I drive the sheeet out of this car lol) with my 2006 Evo IX MR. There is a noise that sounds like a rough whine. Also, sometimes my car vibrated when driving up to the ATL airport (only happened on that stretch of road though, never again). It starts as early as 15-20mph and only gets higher pitched as I increase in speed. I had a buddy who knows alittle (still, more then me) about cars and he did the test where you jack up the car, and try to move the tire by grabbing it at the top and bottom of the wheel looking any sort of play. He found some and suggested I buy left/right front wheel bearings. When shopping around, most of the websites I'm coming across will only sell the front wheel bearings themselves, not the flange. I checked with him and he wasn't sure if it would make a difference. Does anyone have some insight on this whole situation, as well as should I just get the bearings or the bearings/flange combo (which is rare for me to find online when searching) ?

I'm not seeing a complete hub assembly either, so you'll prolly have to buy the wheel bearings, pop the old bearings out of hub, and press the new ones in.

It's kind of a pain of the *** and requires some special tools

I sell the hub bearing assemblies here at Napa. They run about $183 each for a good price on them.
Also, if your going to try and replace just the bearings I'd recommend taking them to a local machine shop and have them press them in for you, just makes everything a whole lot easier and they usually don't charge much.

Just go to mitsubishiparts.net. I don't have the part number but they only sell the hub assembly. Call and ask for the number if you can't find it browsing the site. As far as I know you can't buy just the bearing. At least not oem. I believe I paid $130 shipped. They are a great source for oem parts.

What have you done so far to troubleshoot the noise? Did you rotate the tire to see if the noise followed? Are your tires choppy? (treads are up/down) . Normally with a bad bearing you can get some wheel play. Have you had the car on the lift and shook the wheels?
If you did all of these then the final thing I would recommend is turning. If a Bearing is bad on the left front and you make a deep right front turn, the noise will go away, visa versa

Are you sure that it was the wheel bearings and not the transfer case? Your first post sure sounded like the transfer case death whine.
